10 Things To Do On A Boring Summer Day! For Girls
(Boys Edition will be released soon)
Okay, so we know that summertime is a time to hang out with friends and family. But sometimes your family might be doing things, and sometimes your friends might be busy on vacation or something. So what are you supposed to do on a summer day being all alone? I've decided to show you 10 things that can help cure your boredom on a summer day. So lets get started!
1.) Finish projects you've started! Like a journal you started to write in but then forgot about. Or maybe you started to organize your shoes in your closet but then gave up. Or making a scrapbook of your summer. A bunch of us have unfinished projects, and it feels really good to finish something you started.
2) Take a relaxing bubblebath! When we get older, we become to old for our rubber duck and our Mr. Bubbles bubblebath, and we just take quick (or extensive) showers. I like to plug my iPod dock in my bathroom, dim the lights (but leave on some lights so you can see) and fill my bathtub with some bubbles, and just relax. It's fun.
3) Watch chick flicks! Curl up on your sofa with some buttery popcorn and watch fun chick flick movies such as He's Just Not That Into You, The Notebook, or Confessions Of A Shopaholic. If you're not in the mood, you can watch any movie you like. Sometimes if you're on a lazy summer day it's fun to just watch movies you enjoy -- maybe an old one you forgot about?
4) Give yourself a mani-pedi. In the summer, sometimes we are just lazy and forget about our poor toes and nails. BUT, it is also flipflop season, and it's kind of gross to have dirty, long toenails! Start with removing old or chipped polish, cut them until they are neat (but not TOO short or it will become infrown) and paint them a pretty color you like! If you don't have nail paint, just clean them and they will still shine.
5) Go to the library, or read a good book! OK, so many of you are probably like "Awhh, that's lame!" But I admit, some books I really like and really get into over the summer. I love The Clique and Twilight series!
6) Hang up posters in your room! A lot of us read teen/tween magazines (such as M?) and they always come with cute posters! If your room is bland and uncolored, try to spice it up with a poster of your favorite star.
7) WRITE, WRITE, WRITE. Write blogs!
8) Clean your room. Okay, your parents probably tell you to do this enough. But sometimes you feel more light and clean if your room doesn't have junk all over the floor! Every room needs a good summertime cleaning. And don't you get embarressed if one of your friends come over to hang out and you have potato chip bags and clothes all over your floor?
9) Make videos and pictures! I know a bunch of you have digital cameras, and most computers have Windows Movie Maker (or iMovie, for Macs!) Making movies or picture slideshows is a great way to make Summer 2009 a memorable and fun summer.
And 10...10) PLAY OUTSIDE, GET FRESH AIR!!!! Most of you want to start school feeling rested and healthier, right? Everyone needs a good amount of sunshine a day. Good for your body AND your mood. If you sit in your computer room and play Sims 3 all summer long (ahem, ahem, like me...just kidding!) then you will go back to school feeling tired and nasty. Well that is the first 10! I might be doing other blogs like this. Tell me if you liked it! :)
